About Jessica Scott |
During my lifetime, I’ve always been involved in different aspects of fashion, television, modeling and events. I attended a modeling school at the age of 11. I wanted so desperately to model, but soon found my shyness and modesty kept me from really pursuing the act of being in front of the camera. I found that I enjoyed the production and operation that takes place “behind the scenes” so much more. So when my parents enrolled me in 1988, they thought it would be beneficial to help build my self-esteem as a young adult. The school, located in Media, PA, taught me everything from how to walk the runway, speak in front of a camera, apply make-up, to how to properly get in and out of a car. It was from that day forward that everything I learned in modeling school just became a part of me. My parents didn’t believe in pushing me to model - they really wanted it to be my decision. So literally the first time I ever posed in front of a camera was my senior year of college while interning for QVC. They were shooting a marketing brochure and asked me to model. And the first time I ever walked a runway was when I was 27 years old for a Nicole Miller fashion show which took place right here in Philadelphia. |
Once I became a partner in a local Philadelphia Promotional Modeling Agency, in 2006, my niche was found. It was then that I decided to establish a goal of starting my own Modeling Agency. |
JS Models was launched in March of 2008. The company works to find the best face to represent a company’s brand. We provide models for commercial, print, fashion, and promotional needs. Because JS Models is owned and operated by me, a client never has to question how well I know my models. It’s a nice feature to have such great talent in such a small agency.
As far as my educational background goes, I have my BA in Communication Studies from West Chester University. I was born in Philadelphia, attended Middle School and High School in Media, PA and now reside again in Philadelphia.
It has been said over and over again that Philadelphia is not the city to hire models, nor is it the city to live in if you want to be a model. My goal is to change that perception to show that it is simply not true.
